Jennifer Posey-Williams Joins Meristem Team

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AgPR) | Experienced agronomy professional Jennifer Posey-Williams has joined Meristem Crop Performance Group, LLC (www.MeristemAg.com), one of the fastest-growing crop input suppliers in America.  Posey-Williams now becomes Meristem’s Senior Sales Representative for North Dakota.

“Jen has proven herself as a top-notch advisor to farmers pursuing higher yields by feeding the crop the right way and assuring plant health at every stage of crop growth,” said Mitch Eviston, Meristem Founder and CEO in announcing the hire. “She is clearly intent on helping farmers succeed and we are excited to add her to our growing team of all-star ag professionals.”

Posey-Williams comes to Meristem from Helm Agro, where she served as Helm’s Regional Sales Manager for North Dakota, Minnesota and Montana. Before that she spent nearly 10 years in field agronomy and sales with a crop nutrition company developing business in the western states of the U.S. and Canada.

“I’ve always loved working with growers to figure out how to help any crop they grow meet its potential,” Posey-Williams says of her long-time work, mostly in North Dakota. “I really love riding in the combine with that farmer at harvest when we get to see the fruit of all that labor.” She says it “was really the clear mission of serving farmers with products that will improve ROI (return on investment) that made it an easy decision to join Meristem,” and she’s especially impressed with the company’s innovation.

“The Bio-Capsule™ is truly a game-changer,” she says of Meristem’s patented planter box seed fluency delivery system. “It’s really going to improve the way we are able to provide plant nutrition. I love this technology to keep these biologicals alive all the way to where they can do their work. That’s a big advantage.” she says. “Biologicals are the future and better understanding soil health and all the elements that contribute to plant growth has so much potential for improving any crop you grow.”

Posey-Williams was born in Texas, then grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch in New Mexico near the small town of Corona. “There were four in my high school class,” she laughs. “Our ranch was 38 miles from the school.” After graduating high school, Jenn went to Southwestern Oklahoma University, where she earned a bachelor of science (BS) degree in biochemistry. In 2001, she moved to a farm in Minnesota and continued her education at University of Minnesota, earning a second BS degree – and an MS degree – both in agronomy and crop production.

North Dakota was where she first put her wealth of knowledge to use, first with Farmers Union Oil, then with Winfield United as an agronomist and location manager. Along the way she also founded AgWatch MD crop consulting to serve North Dakota growers.

“I think it’s a wonderful thing that we get to work with these people who are feeding the world,” says Jen. “What a privilege it is to be a part of that.” Jen’s daughter Dixie is also pursuing a career in agriculture, having recently earned a degree in animal science from Colorado State University. She intends to continue at CSU on a pre-vet track.

Jennifer and her husband Ivan live near Harvey, N.D. In her free time, Jen enjoys golf, fishing and pheasant hunting with her two German shorthairs.
