Columbus, Ohio and Des Moines, Iowa (AgPR) – Two more leading agronomic professionals have joined Meristem Crop Performance, one of the fastest-growing crop input suppliers in America. Cameron Edwards will serve farm businesses in Ohio as sales representative and Mason Troendle becomes sales representative serving farm operations in Iowa. Edwards and Troendle both have deep experience in helping growers boost their profitability by bringing together the right crop inputs and farming practices specific to local needs.
“We are growing quickly and grateful to have two more talented professionals to help us carry out our mission in key areas of the Corn Belt,” said Mitch Eviston, Meristem founder and CEO in announcing the hires. “We are building an all-star team and we’re excited to sign up Cameron and Mason to impact more farm businesses with our high-quality products.”
Cameron Edwards has nearly five years of experience in sales and business development with Ag-Pro Company, a John Deere dealer with 80 locations, and Direct Enterprises Inc., a provider of customized seed treatments and seed treating equipment. Before that, Edwards worked for several years with two diverse commercial farming operations near Williston, Florida, raising grain, cattle, peanuts, hay and watermelons gaining experience with crop production at field-level.
“Meristem’s approach with high quality products for every pass farmers take through the field really intrigues me,” says Edwards of the opportunity. “I like their mission of reducing waste and helping farmers gain a better return.” Edwards earned his degree in food and resource economics from the University of Florida and now lives in central Ohio.
Mason Troendle grew up on a cattle and row crop farm in northeast Iowa and interned with ag input providers in the summers while attending Iowa State University for Ag Business. He gained further field-level experience in nearly five years with Stalcup, a farm management business serving northwest Iowa. “We did the whole package,” he says of that experience. “We worked with custom and crop-share farmers and landowners to select the right seed, the right nutrient plans, the right farming practices – it really was a chance to put together production plans for a wide variety of field-specific growing conditions.”
Troendle also has been an auctioneer and is a licensed farmland broker in Iowa and Minnesota. He most recently worked with Tillable, a start-up oriented toward bringing together farmland owners and farmers to operate their land.
“Meristem is clearly working to help farmers make the most of their crop inputs and build a road for more new innovative technology they can benefit from,” he says. “When farmers buy into Meristem, Meristem buys into helping them and their farming operation.” Mason, his wife Lindsay and their children Henley and McCoy live out in the country in central Iowa.
